I’ve just returned from Hofheim where I’ve had a most enjoyable time with the non-Bahá’í German friends who had told me about the summer garden party at the Bahá’í House of Worship. They took me there and stayed until I had done all that I had wanted to do before they drove me back to Hofheim.
It was a most successful trip. The weather was beautiful; I met and talked with the secretary of the Hofheim Bahá’í community – there are 50 Bahá’ís in the city – and obtained his contact details; I bought some Bahá’í books at the Visitor Centre bookshop; and, as a bonus, I was able to attend a performance by the Bahá’í Choir in the House of Worship itself.
I was visiting Hofheim with fellow members of the Tiverton Twinning Association and I was able to talk about the Bahá’í Faith to a couple of them, and their German host, at a barbecue one evening. As a result, their German host, who is a prominent member of Hofheim City Council, offered me an open invitation to stay with him at his home in Langenhain if or whenever I wanted to attend another event at the House of Worship.
My plan now is to build upon these contacts I’ve made and form a solid relationship with the Hofheim Bahá’í community, and perhaps take up that offer of accommodation in Langenhain some time in the future.
