About ten years ago, when I first came back to Tiverton and moved into my own flat, I set myself some personal goals and compiled a ‘Personal Action Plan’ in order to achieve those goals.
Just recently, while I was going through my filing cabinet, I came across the sheet of paper on to which I had typed this ‘Personal Action Plan’. I’m ashamed to admit that very few of the goals that were listed in that action plan had been achieved. Perhaps it’s because I made the mistake of filing my action plan away. What I should have done was pin it up in a prominent position in my home so that it was constantly in sight to remind me each day of my plans to teach the Bahá’í Faith to my friends, neighbours and others that I might have met in my daily life.
No matter, I will take action NOW to pin it up on the door of my kitchen cabinet so that I can belatedly pursue the goals I set myself all those years ago. As the weeks pass I will constantly review these goals and tick them off as I achieve them and add new ones to take their place. One goal that can be ticked off straight away is the creation of a Bahá’í website for Tiverton (The Tiverton Bahá’í) and for Devon (the Bahá’ís of Devon Facebook group). However, there is room for improvement on both of these achievements so I won’t rest on my laurels just yet.
